While most maintenance should be done by a Dean Family Service professional, here are some things you can do to help your system work at peak performance

  1. Make sure to clean, or replace your filter every month. 
  2. Make sure to keep all areas around returns free from air blocking obstacles
  3. Make sure the area around the condenser (the outdoor unit) is free from air blocking obstacles.  Such as bushes, trashcans, and building materials.
  4. If possible, keep all vents open, and leave as many doors open as you can.  Your system is designed to work this way.
  5. Make sure this are no obstacles preventing your drain line from flowing.
  6. Flush drain line every couple of months with about an ounce of bleach.
  7. Try to keep your thermostat set at one temperature even when your not home. your unit works very hard to catch up if raised and lowered frequently.
